A fire that started on Tuesday in the Chisapani Community Forest, located on the border of Khani Khola and Bethanchok Rural Municipality, has spread to three other community forests. Despite four days passing since the fire began, it has not been brought under control.

The fire, which started in Chisapani Community Forest of Khani Khola-1 Tham Lek, has spread to the border areas of Bethanchok-1, 2, 3, and 5. Although the fire in Chisapani has been brought under control, it has not been contained in the other three community forests in the Mahabharat mountain range. In order to prevent the fire from reaching settlements, efforts were made on Friday to extinguish the flames by dropping water from a Simrik Air helicopter over areas like Ramittedanda and Jwano Thumka in Bethanchok-2, as informed by the chairperson of Bethanchok Rural Municipality,

Bhagwan Adhikari.
