A female police officer was found dead by hanging in the barracks of the Sankhu Police Unit in Kathmandu.
The officer, Nisha Chaudhary, was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan with her scarf around 12 PM on Wednesday. She lived in a room shared by three people.
On Wednesday morning, Chaudhary and her roommates were assigned duty at the Shali River Mela. However, while the other two officers stayed at the mela and had their meals there, Chaudhary returned to the barracks, saying she would eat there, according to SP Apilraj Bohora of Kathmandu Police.
After returning, she went into her room. When she didn’t come out for a long time and didn’t respond when called, her colleagues broke the window and found her hanging from the ceiling fan.
