India secured a hard-fought two-wicket win in the second T20 match against England on Saturday night, taking a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. India had already emerged victorious in the first game as well.
Chasing a target of 166 set by England, India reached the required total with four balls to spare, losing eight wickets in the process. Tilak Varma played a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten on 72 runs from 55 balls, including four boundaries and five sixes. He also took two superb catches, earning the Player of the Match award. Washington Sundar contributed 26 valuable runs.
England’s Brydon Carse was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for 29 runs in his four overs. On the other hand, Jofra Archer had a costly spell, conceding 60 runs from his four overs while taking one wicket.
Earlier, England batted first after losing the toss and managed to score 165 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Captain Jos Buttler was the top scorer with 45 runs off 30 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes. Jamie Smith contributed 22 runs from 12 balls, while Carse added 31 runs off 17 balls.
