Pokhara Metropolitan City has announced that it will celebrate 2025 as the Visit Year. The official declaration will be made on February 15 at an event at the Exhibition Center.
The city has urged tourism businesses to offer various packages for tourists throughout the year to promote tourism. The packages should be made available by February 11, according to a notice issued by the city.
Pokhara was declared the tourism capital on March 18 last year. To mark the one-year anniversary of this declaration, the city will celebrate the Visit Year. The goal for the Visit Year is to attract 2 million tourists to Pokhara.
“Programs will be conducted throughout the year to promote Pokhara,” said Pokhara Mayor Dhanraj Acharya. “The city plans to appoint goodwill ambassadors abroad to promote Pokhara.”
For the declaration event, a 1,051-member organizing committee will be formed under Mayor Acharya’s leadership, along with a 51-member directing committee and a 15-member working committee.
