Two people have been arrested for cheating by promising to send victims to Portugal and Japan for foreign jobs with attractive salaries.

The arrested individuals are 29-year-old Purna Bahadur Jethara from Badi Kedara, Doti, currently living in Kathmandu-14, and 37-year-old Raj Kumar Lama from Belkotgadhi Municipality, Nuwakot, now living in Kathmandu Nagarjun-2.

Purna Bahadur took 900,000 rupees from three victims, promising to send them to Portugal. Raj Kumar took 550,000 rupees from one victim, claiming he would send them to Japan. After receiving the money, both suspects went out of contact. Based on the victims’ complaints, police arrested them.

The arrests were made by the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office from Teku. Purna Bahadur was arrested from Kathmandu-14, and Raj Kumar was arrested from Kathmandu Nagarjun-2 on Sunday.
