The wife of Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, Sophie has arrived in Kathmandu.
She arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday morning. She is the Duchess of Edinburgh.
She was welcomed by Foreign Secretary Amrit Rai.
Duke Edward is also expected to arrive in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
During their private visit, the Nepal Police and the Nepali Army will provide security. They have been given ‘Category X’ security arrangements.
The couple is scheduled to visit Ghadruk in Pokhara, view the Annapurna mountain range, and visit the British Gurkha camp, as reported by British media.
This is their first visit to Nepal.
