President Paudel: True Tribute to Martyrs is Achieving Development and Prosperity
Kathmandu, January 29 – President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that the best way to honor the martyrs is by working towards development and prosperity.
On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day today, he shared his message, stating that the sacrifices made by the great martyrs helped establish Nepal as a federal democratic republic. He emphasized that achieving lasting peace, good governance, development, and prosperity through this system is the true tribute to the martyrs.
He believes that Martyrs’ Day inspires everyone to sincerely fulfill their respective responsibilities.
“Sacrificing one’s precious life for the welfare of the people and the nation is true martyrdom. I hope this day motivates political parties, the general public, and all concerned to dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to fulfilling the dreams of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Nepal’s sovereignty and the well-being of the Nepali people,” President Paudel said.
On this occasion, Vice President Ramsahaya Prasad Yadav also extended his best wishes. He stated that the courage of the martyrs serves as inspiration for building a self-reliant economy and making Nepal socially and economically strong, stable, and developed. He also emphasized that martyrs have inspired the vision of a free, prosperous, and peaceful Nepal.
Every year, Nepal observes Martyrs’ Day on Magh 16 to honor those who sacrificed their lives for the people’s sovereignty. These martyrs fought against the Rana regime, the Panchayat system, and the monarchy during various democratic movements and revolutions.
